Ride History:
The Skyfighter was built in 1965 by the Allan Herschell Company. Originally they were ground mounted rides for amusement parks. The factory never offered trailer mounted Skyfighters so carnival owners devised their own mounting methods. This particular ride has one of the better trailer mount styles seen in today’s business. This Skyfighter was bought in 2001 by Lewellen Amusements. The ride’s inner workings have been completely overhauled. The ride was repainted and it received new fence and sound boxes for the guns. The Skyfighter began operation in 2002 and has been one of the most popular kid rides since.
