Ride History:
Merry-Go-Rounds are built by nearly every ride manufacturer. This MGR was built by San Antonio Rides. Based in San Antonio Texas the company is now known as Carousel USA. This ride was built in 1984. The ride began as a shopping mall attraction. When the mall decided to upgrade to a newer model the ride was removed. It was sold to Carousel Park in Joplin Missouri until the owner sold it to Lewellen Amusements in the summer of 2004. The ride was customized at the Lewellen shop for travel. It has been upgraded with new fence and a new sound system. In the winter of 2004-2005 it received a new canvas top. In 2008 the wooden platforms on the ride were replaced by steel platforms with aluminum diamond deck.
